Catechesis of the Good Shepherd 2024–2025 Calendars

At Church of the Lamb, we long for our children to encounter God . . .

. . . grow in affection for him, and experience his abundant life. Our community breathes life into these desires in four ways:

  • Being an intergenerational community

  • Practicing liturgical rhythms

  • Baptizing and serving Eucharist to children

  • Giving children the story of Scripture through our children’s ministry approach, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS). We offer 3 levels of CGS and a youth gathering:

    • Level 1: Ages 3–6

    • Level 2: Ages 6–9

    • Level 3: Ages 9–12

    • Youth: Ages 12–high school seniors — Older children and youth work together to accomplish meaningful practical life projects as well as gather to pray and listen to Scripture. The approach to spiritual formation and work for this age group is consistent with the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd ethos.

The age ranges for the levels overlap. Parents work with the Children’s Ministry Director, Renee Velker, to find the best fit for each child. If you’d like your child to be involved or if you have questions, email Renee@churchofthelamb.org.

Before bringing your child, fill out the registration form below listed under the “For Parents” section. Your child may join at any time of the year.

Sundays
On Sundays we offer care for children ages 0–3 during most of our service. (Children are picked up during the Passing of the Peace, just before Eucharist.) We do our best to implement the CGS approach to create spaces of worship for our youngest members and visitors. Read more about how we do this here.

If possible, before bringing your child to church, fill out the registration form below listed under the “For Parents” section. If you already filled out this form for your child to participate in CGS, that is sufficient.

 

Forms

For many people in our church, more than one of these roles will apply. Fill out the forms in each category, but do not fill out the same form twice. (For example, if you volunteer in the nursery and with youth, you need to fill out 4 forms: Volunteer Application, Child Protection Policy Acknowledgement, and the Supervisory Plan forms for both age groups.)

Adult Formation at Church of the Lamb

From June 16–21, 2025, Church of the Lamb
will host a Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
Level 1 Part Two formation course.

From June 23–28, 2025, Church of the Lamb
will host a Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
Level 2 Part Two formation course.
